NNAS Silver navigator award
Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales
March 2015
What a great two days in the Dales, and spring has finally arrived. Saturday was spent learning and applying contour interpretation, compass bearings, distance estimation across the hills, upland environment, route choice and simplification, finishing with a night navigation off the hill. Sunday was consolidation and practise as we headed up onto Fremington Edge via the spectacular Jabz Cave, perhaps the finest viewpoint in the Yorkshire Dales.
