ITV WALK - Breath of Fresh Air
with Mark Reid & Jon Mitchell
We filmed our latest ITV Yorkshire walk this week, around the beautiful valleys of the Yorkshire Wolds. We started at the village of Thixendale, and then followed the Wolds Way to Wharram Percy via Water Dale, Back Dale and Deep Dale. After exploring this fascinating deserted medieval village, we followed the Centenary Way back via Court Dale.
These dry, grassy valleys are supremely beautiful and wonderfully quiet, whilst the Cross Keys at Thixendale at the end of the walk was wonderfully warm with its log fire.
This walk will be shown on ITV Yorkshire at 6pm this Friday, 20th January 2012.

Tripsdale, North York Moors
Northern Echo walk
Tripsdale, North York Moors
Went out for a superb winter's walk yesterday to secluded Tripsdale, a side-valley off Bilsdale near Chop Gate.
From Chop Gate, a brisk climb leads up from William Beck Farm onto Nab Ridge, where they were burning the heather. From there, a tracks leads along the ridge before descending past the Bride Stones then round into hidden Tripsdale. This is a superb and dramatic valley, with crags and cliffs, thick woodland and a vast expanse of heather moorland. The setting sun was particularly good from the top of this moorland, with a classic Mackerel Sky (not long dry), as proved to be the case.
