12 hour (23 mile) walk from Kirkby Stephen, taking in Nine Standards, High Seat, Archy Styrigg, Mallerstand Edge, Swarth Fell and Wild Boar Fell. These fells and mountains encircle the Upper Eden Valley, known as Mallerstang. Kirkby Stephen is also noted for its old road sign, with miles and furlongs; the only such signpost in the country.
