You're right...thanks for your comments boozywalker. You're right, I missed this off my list. The Thwaite Arms is indeed an unspoilt, unpretentious Dales pub and one of the most remote, tucked away in the upper reaches of Coverdale. this pub is the lunch stop on day five of my 'Inn Way to the Yorkshire Dales' route.

Here's some more... Crown Hotel at Middlesmoor, Victoria Arms at Worton, Craven Arms at Appletreewick, Fox & Hounds at Starbotton, George at Hubberholme... It's all down to warmth of welcome, quality of the beer/food and character of the place.Mark Reidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11027122976890496211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35349896.post-50460955809849110242007-12-19T04:44:00.000-08:002007-12-19T04:44:00.000-08:00I agree with your choice of the Falcon as being a ...I agree with your choice of the Falcon as being a great pub as this was mine also.

I say was because now my number one is the Thwaite Arms at Horsehouse - you feel like you're sat in the living room (probably was) and the view and tranquiliy from the beer garden at the back is very hard to beat!

Oh and the cheese and onion toasties on offer after the long walk there are more than welcome.boozywalkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814077957329915598noreply@blogger.com
